American Based Curriculum and Diploma

The American International School in Gaza offers a comprehensive and robust academic program built upon the principles and standards of the American education system. Our rigorous, yet flexible curriculum is designed to inspire our students to become successful lifelong learners and responsible global citizens.

The curriculum set forth by the American International School in Gaza encourages students to continue their studies in all of the major academic disciplines. In high school, students must earn credits (one credit per course per year) in English, Mathematics, Sciences, Social Studies, and Languages. They must also choose from a wide variety of courses in fields such as Engineering and Technology. All AISG students work towards earning the American High School Diploma (AHSD), which is the document awarded for the successful completion of high school program at the end of grade 12. Once a student has successfully achieved the minimum requirements they will receive the American High School Diploma that will serve as the foundation for their college education and admissions.

Academics and Guidance Counseling

Our school guidance counselors are vital members of the AISG educational leadership team by providing valuable assistance to our students on a regular basis. Every year our guidance counselors meet with individual high school students from grades 9 through 12 to review career goals, university options and course selections. Our counselors are specialized professionals who are committed to the educational development of our students. They assist every student in mastering the standards set forth by AISG by regularly conducting academic course program orientations, presentations and university fairs, as well as parent conferences. Our guidance counselors will support each student in applying and preparing for their further educational goals be they international in nature, regional, or local.

Program Studies Tailored for Your Child’s Needs

Over the course of the program, students will be able to concentrate on the key academic areas required for university entrance- English, Mathematics, and Science- as well as other important subjects that facilitate greater social and personal awareness- Modern Languages, Social Studies, Information Technology, Humanities and the Arts. The AISG curriculum is guided by the values and beliefs embedded in the school’s mission and vision in which we cater for the needs of all our students.

At AISG we also understand how to support expatriate families who are regularly on the move by providing them with a highly flexible and specialized curriculum. The curriculum is set up to suit previously enrolled AISG students and students who wish to enroll during their mid-year academics to complement their current educational needs.

The school uses a variety of means to meet the needs of all students so that they have the best opportunity to learn and make progress and this is achieved by providing students with personal & academic counseling, assessing individual educational student needs, and providing specific program support (ex. ESL, ASL, IEP, and ILP).
